A super silt fence is a reinforced, heavy-duty version of a standard silt fence, designed for sites with high sediment loads, steep gradients, large catchment areas, or close proximity to sensitive waterways. Super silt fences use a heavier double layer geotextile fabric, 1.8m y posts, uses a wire mesh backing for additional structural support.
When Is A Super Silt Fence Required?
Large-scale earthworks with significant areas of exposed soil • Sites with slopes that increase runoff velocity and sediment load • Catchment areas that drain toward waterways, streams, or ecologically sensitive areas • Council consent conditions that specify super silt fence or equivalent • Projects in Waikato and Bay of Plenty where regional council standards require enhanced sediment capture
